10 not on list

Suspended Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin and nine veteran police officers who have court cases pending against the force’s administration, will not be receiving Diamond Jubilee Medals being awarded today.
The medals, which are being awarded to officers with 30 years and over of service, will be presented to 192 other stalwarts in a ceremony at Solidarity House, which Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite is scheduled to address.
Others not being awarded medals include Superintendent Jeddar Robinson, Assistant Superintendents Vernella Wiltshire, Elphene Moore and John Maxwell, Inspectors Barry Hunte, Trevor Blackman and Elliott Bovell, and Station Sergeants Vernon Moore and Wayne Archer.
Both Dottin and Wiltshire have 42 years in the police service; Robinson 40; Bovell and Blackman 36; Elphene Moore 34; Archer and Maxwell 33; Vernon Moore 32; and Hunte, 30.
The man who has replaced Dottin, acting commissioner Tyrone Griffith, will be receiving one of the medals – which were created last year to mark the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. He has 38 years in the force.
