Electric vehicles ‘are the future’

THE NISSAN LEAF is in Barbados in a move importers Megapower Ltd hopes will help usher in a new age for electric-powered motor vehicles.
Director Simon Richards said the company was blazing trails it hoped local vehicle dealerships would follow.
He was speaking to the DAILY?NATION recently outside the company’s Wildey, St Michael office.
“The more forward thinking, leading companies are switching to electric [vehicles] because it makes environmental and economic sense. We want as many companies as possible to start importing these vehicles and we hope to see them selling in places such as Courtesy Garage, which is the licensed dealer of Nissan vehicles in Barbados,” he said.
