CORRUPT POLICE officers in the Royal Barbados Police Force need to resign their posts or acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith will be coming after them.
Griffith sounded the warning as he addressed an awards ceremony for 192 long-serving members of the force yesterday at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St Michael.
“You who have contributed 30 years or more in dedicated service, need to encourage the younger members of the force in a similar path to always give of their best to the organization,”?he said.
“It is also your responsibility to do all in your power to eradicate those small pockets of persons whose conduct has been unethical and at times, downright corrupt.”
Griffith said it was no secret who were the guilty officers in the force.
“I know these persons, you know those persons and they know who they are. They should do the right thing and bow out, but I will be doing all in my power to rid this organization of them.
“You also need to do all in your power to assist in ridding the force of them as they sully the reputation of an otherwise great organization,” he said.
