A?St?Michael?family wants to know why they were not informed that the case against the two men accused of killing their loved one had been called up for hearing last week.
An upset Veronica Payne said her family had to relive the trauma of four years ago when her brother Charles Payne was killed, after they opened the last SATURDAY?SUN to see that one of his alleged killers had been set free and the other had pleaded guilty.
“My mother and I were eating breakfast when a friend called to say that the case was in the paper and that one of them was free,” Payne said. “My mother, who is 91, almost fainted because no one informed us that the case was coming up so that we could be there.”
Fighting back the tears, Payne, 62, who resides in Canada, said the family was despondent for that entire day.
