Ultimate Shooter title up for grabs

THE THIRD ANNUAL Best of Both Worlds Shooting Competition hosted by Smoking Barrels shooting team takes place this weekend.
Today’s event will be at the Barbados Rifle and Pistol Federation and it continues tomorrow at the Barbados Rifle Association.
Over sixty shooters are expected to compete in this year’s event with entrants from St Lucia and Trinidad as well as local shooters and local law enforcement personnel vying for the coveted title of Ultimate Shooter.
All eyes will be on local boys Adrian Marshall, Rodney Clarke, Sean Banfield, Rickey McConney, Dennis Bellamy and Kevin Grant.  
The competition merges two disciplines of shooting – service pistol/static shooting (no moving with gun in hand) and international practical shooting/tactical shooting (running and shooting).  
Today kicks off at noon at Waterford with five challenging stages which will test shooters in accuracy and the ability to shoot at a stationary target from various positions. 
Day two will consist of eight rigorous International Practical Shooting Confederation stages where shooters will have to run and engage targets as quickly and accurately as possible.
