Relatives admitted bewilderment yesterday at the gruesome murder of Moreta Forde, whom many described as the glue that held the family together.
The nude body of the corporate specialist at LIME, was pulled from her home at Fisher Pond, St Thomas, in the wee hours of yesterday morning, after neighbours discovered the house on fire.
Even more puzzling to relatives was that someone also attempted to burn a house which Forde, 53, was building not too far away, at Groves Terrace, St George.
Cousin Jocelyn Boucher, who lived next door, said she was awakened around 3 a.m by someone banging on her bedroom window and shouting ‘get up! get up!’
“My son ran to the front door before me and when we got outside I saw the large smoke coming from Moreta’s house. I said “O God, check to see if she is inside but when I?saw her car I knew she was in there.”
Boucher’s son and another guy ran into the house shouting for Moreta and found her lifeless body just outside her bedroom door in the corridor.
