BARBADIAN Shontonia Hall was a picture of beauty during the national costume presentation for the Miss Intercontinental pageant tonight.
Held at the Holiday Inn Berlin, Germany, 61 contestants from all over the world gave the international Press and specially invited guests a small taste of their various cultures through dress.
Made and designed by Rose-Ann Lewis, the costume represented the Barbados flag with its gold and ultramarine ruffled skirt and the trident hanging in the middle. The national flower, the Pride of Barbados, was used creatively on the costume, specially making up the large headpiece.
Results did not favour our teen queen unfortunately, as Panama was awarded the Best National Costume prize of US$1 000. Russia was second and Gabon third. (MF)
