Barbados records another road fatality

AN EARLY MORNING accident in St Philip today has resulted in the death of a man from that parish.
Dead is Winston Newton, 34, of Chapel Land, St Philip, who lost his life following a three-way crash at 7 a.m along Sunbury Road. Reports from police state Newton and his wife Kathy, 35, were involved in the accident which resulted in Newton being trapped in his vehicle.
He was extricated by the Barbados Fire Service using the Jaws of Life, sustaining injuries to his shoulder, neck and right side.
Kathy complained of pain to her right side and they both sought private medical attention. However, Winston was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital later where he succumbed to his injuries sometime yesterday afternoon.
A second vehicle was driven by Barrington Butcher, 50, of Ebenezer, St Philip. He had a passenger, 15-year-old Trey Butcher of the same address. Both complained of pains to the body.
The third vehicle was driven by Jason Alleyne, 31, of Emerald Park West, St Philip. He complained of pains to the neck.
Both Butchers and Alleyne sought private medical attention. All vehicles involved were extensively damaged. (CA)
