DEAR CHRISTINE: Awestruck by woman’s kindness

Dear Christine,
I do hope that you will oblige and print this letter in your column although it is not the usual letter for advice.
On Saturday, November 9, I attended a function at All Souls Church, Bank Hall. After it began to get dark I left. When I came out of the hall, where the event was eventually held, I was lost.
I did not even remember where I was and which direction to turn. I saw a young woman standing in the yard and asked her for directions. I told her I wanted to catch the by-pass bus from Oistins.
Would you believe that this youngster walked me down the “gap” from the hall and when we reached the front road and I turn back, she continued walking with me until we reached the bus stop?
I was so awestruck all I could do was grab and hug her in appreciation. Maybe she is a member of the All Souls Church. She knows who she is. Bless her heart! I wish her well in life.

Dear The Old Lady,
Your letter is so refreshing. I wish I would receive more letters like yours – with reports of good deeds which have  been done.
I take this opportunity to wish both you and this kind Samaritan a wonderful Christmas season. After all, you took the time to say thank you to her through this column.
May God bless you both.
