Talented family performs at jazz

IT WAS ALL in the family on the second night of the Naniki Jazz Safari last Friday night.
Young Nikita Browne was in the spotlight as one of the featured performers, but she graciously allowed the clan to showcase the talent that seems to run in their veins and spills from the mouths of every member of the famed Leacock clan.
She was joined by “uncle Jamesy” on lead and backed by brother Jabari, cousins Kade Mascoll, Shem Goddard and Jamie Leacock for Stevie Wonder’s I’ll be Loving You Always.
As if they thought the six on stage were representing the family tradition well, other family members sitting in the first two rows of the centre aisle encouraged them as they sang.
The delivery seemingly struck the right note for members of the audience as well, and several of them rewarded the group with hearty applause and a standing ovation. (YB)
