The quest is on, and 15 is the magic number.
Springer Memorial’s attempt to win an unprecedented 15th Inter School track and field championships began yesterday at the National Stadium.
The Government Hill school’s athletes took to the Stadium track for the preliminaries of their annual inter-house sports, a site where they have celebrated 14 times, but which went silent when track repairs prevented the staging of the biggest school event on the sports calendar last year.
Having dominated the girls section for more than a decade, Springer Memorial hit the ground with their hurdles, and field events being staged.
The finals will be held on February 7 at the same venue.
