Barbados’ Davis Cup dream is one win away from being a reality.
The pair of Darian King and Haydn Lewis made sure of that earlier today, when they teamed up to defeat the higher ranked Chilean duo of Jorge Aguilar and Christian Garin 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 at the National Tennis Centre to give Barbados a 2-1 lead in their Americas Zone II tie.
It means that the boys in aquamarine and gold need just one victory from Sunday’s reverse singles, where King will play Gonzalo Lama, and Lewis faces Christian Garin.
If Barbados does advance, they will face the winner of an El Salvador versus Paraguay match-up in the group semifinals. (BA)
