Crime scene training for first responders

OFFICERS FROM THREE enforcement agencies in Barbados have commenced a one-week training course facilitated by the Regional Security System.
The men and women from the Royal Barbados Police Force, the Barbados Defence Force and Barbados Prison Service are expected to strengthen their skills on the Crime Scene First Responders Course 2014.
Participants will be trained in initial assessments at a crime scene, applying the principles of crime scene preservation, packaging and preserving forensic evidence, applying the principles of handling informants and interviewing witnesses, and other related topics.
They are expected to score a minimum of 70 per cent from the theory, practical exercises and journal entries in order to pass the course. (YB)
