HUNDREDS?of visitors and locals filled the Super Centre car park in Holetown, St James, yesterday for the opening of the 38th instalment of the Holetown Festival.
They were treated to a varied entertainment package from local talent that included Alexandra School Choir – The Beacons, Dancin’ Africa, multi-time Tune Of The Crop winner Grynner, calypsonian Crystal Cummins-Beckles and Reddy Panners of the Barbados Light & Power Company as well as the Balysto Steel Orchestra out of Canada.
One of the most exciting presentations came from dramatic poet Janine White who gave a comical presentation of how her body had caused her some embarrassment over the years. White had the audience in stiches by not only her lyrics, but by her antics and facial expressions.
The Zouave Band of the Barbados Defence Force also put on a thrilling performance.
