PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Ashley Nurse set a new record as he bowled Barbados to victory over Leeward Islands in Match 12 of the NAGICO Super50 at Queen’s Park Oval tonight.
The off-spinner took six for 29 off 10 overs – the best figures in Regional 50-over cricket at the ground – as Barbados won by four wickets to qualify for the semi-finals.
Leewards were bowled out for 103 off 39.5 overs and Barbados replied with 104 for six off 34.5 overs to earn a bonus point. Barbados topped Zone A with 11 points followed by Trinidad and Tobago 10 points, CCC 7 points and Leewards 0 points.
Meanwhile, the semi-final matchups have been set.
On Wednesday, Jamaica will play Trinidad and Tobago while Barbados will take on Guyana on Thursday.
