IT’S TIME to remove every piece of junk mail from your email and return to the Book of The Law.
This was the clarion call from Prophet Belfield Belgrave as he spoke to the congregation of the Christ Church-based God’s Vision of Prayer, Praise and Worship Ministry last Sunday.
Preaching a message which called on the church to return to God’s Word and for Government to seek godly wisdom, he said: “It’s time to realise that politicians cannot save Barbados. Someone also needs to tell Government that the only way to get Barbados back on track is to return to God and to preach righteousness from the pulpits.”
He said the country was in crisis “because the Bible is no longer being used as the foundational tool for building the society”, and men and women of God “are mixed up” with the politicians to the point where they “cannot get up and speak out against the evil” in Barbados.
“[The church] is in bed with the politicians, just as Israel was mixed up with graven images and many believers were creating idols in their lives.”
He said too many people were worshipping their homes and cars and spending hours on their smartphones and computers, but not enough time on the Word of God.
“Some of you go to Kadooment to jump up in costumes which cost $700 and cannot buy a pair of shoes to send your children to church.”
The Barbadian-born, United States-based preacher based his message on 2 Chronicles, Chapter 34 – the story about the raising up of eight-year-old Josiah to the position of king in Israel.
Urging those present to return to the Book of The Law, Belgrave said when the priest, prophet and evangelist could not find the Book of The Law, it was an indication the country was in trouble.
“Many have exchanged the Book of The Law for emails and other forms of social media. God is looking for a man or a woman who will build up the hedge and get back to prayer and fasting.”
He noted that just as young Josiah destroyed the voodoo, witchcraft images and those who were not serving God, the country of Barbados needed “a cleansing”.
He said this action by Josiah caused the people to renew their vows to God.
The preacher spoke about “spiritual wickedness in high places” and called for the pulling down of ungodly altars across the island.
“Christians need to get in covenant with God and what Barbados needs is repentance – from the Prime Minister straight down. The church in Barbados is a sleeping giant and until we awake and know who we are in Christ, there will always be trouble in Barbados.
“I envision a Christian government rising up in Barbados where there will be prayers in the House of Assembly, but we need to return to the Book of The Law. We need to return to God,” Belgrave reiterated.
The morning service was charged with praise, worship and deliverance ministry and formed part of a series of revival services.
