THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers (NUPW) is calling for sexual harassment legislation following several complaints from public sector workers.
NUPW general secretary Dennis Clarke said yesterday the NUPW has had to deal with several complaints from women and two from men who recently reported being harassed at work.
“This might surprise you and it was indeed a surprise to me, but we’ve been getting complaints from both sexes,” Clarke told the SATURDAY SUN. Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer-Suckoo has said sexual harassment legislation was at the top of her ministry’s agenda
“I dealt with two cases of men complaining of sexual harassment. We don’t highlight or talk much about them but we need to look at this, and in fact look at the whole question of violence in the workplace,” Clarke added.
