WHERE IS OUR money?
That’s what three retrenched Drainage Unit workers who were attached to the disbanded National Environmental Enhancement Programme (NEEP) last December 31 want to know.
The workers complained that despite several attempts to get answers from the ministry responsible they could get no satisfaction.
“We getting treat just like the work we were doing,” said one of the angry women who, like her former co-workers, requested anonymity.
“Transport Board workers gone home with a package. The hospital people get send home with a package. Why drainage workers didn’t get send home with a package?
“. . . Them ain’t deal with we fair. . . we were the first people who get sent home. Why they treating we so? Because we were cleaning drains?” said the mother of three school- age children.
