SHONITA?BROME?was the toast of Alexandra School on Monday.
She was celebrated by teachers and students alike for her superb performance at the recently concluded Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic?Championships, which earned her a share of the victrix ludorum title.
Brome’s performances included a record-breaking run in the Under-15 Girls’ 400 metres, as well as first-place finishes in the 800 metres, high jump and long jump events.
Principal Orson Alleyne and deputy principal?June Browne, who presented Brome with a bouquet of flowers, encouraged the school’s athletes to strive for excellence both on and off the track. (RB)
