Let’s work to ‘rescue island’

THE TRUE STATE of the Barbados economy is not a rosy picture, says Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) president Lalu Vaswani.
He lamented Government’s lack of forthrightness on the economy and policies that could lead to a lack of confidence, as well as anxiety over the future of Barbados’ exchange rate.
As a result, he appealed to Government, the labour movement and other stakeholders to come together now to rescue the island.
In addressing the state of the economy in this month’s BCCI newsletter, Vaswani highlighted three points from a report by the association’s Trade and Economic Policy Committee (TEPC).
