TRAVEL PICK-UP

Barbadians are starting again to spread their wings, and travel agents are seeing hope.
After four years of tough times, the Travel Agents Association of Barbados (TAAB) is reporting improved sales for last year, and it is hoping for an even better performance this year.
TAAB president Indar Weir said that prior to 2013 and this year, travel agents saw a drop in business. He attributed this to the economic situation and people being wary about spending at that time.
And what worsened this situation was a gradual loss of capacity as carriers, generally speaking, reduced the seats available due to reduced demand from their home countries to travel here, and from Barbadians.
