THE BARBADOS CHAMBER of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has announced the appointment of Fabianna Alexander as the new project coordinator for The Revitalization of Bridgetown Initiative (TRBI).
In a release issued today, the BCCI said Alexander brought a wealth of experience to the post, having worked in the telecommunications, tourism, non-profit, international and regional development sectors.
She worked with an international donor agency, as well as a project management firm where she was responsible for project coordination and administration, budget preparation and oversight, financial reporting, event management, staff management, procurement, stakeholder management and contract management.
Regarding the revitalization of The City, the release said Alexander’s desire was to create an environment that fosters social and economic change by increasing the awareness of locals and visitors alike to the island’s rich cultural heritage and history.
“One of my goals is to build sustainability by undertaking capacity building in the areas of business development and marketing, particularly with the small business owners so that they can actively participate in the efforts to drive business and social activity back into the city,” she said.
Alexander assumed her duties on March 10, 2013. (PR/NB)
