45 records set at Senior Games

BARBADOS’ SENIORS?set the National Stadium track ablaze today to bring the curtains down on the two-day 2014 National Senior Games which had started on Saturday.
By the time the final event ran off just after 6 p.m. in fading light, 45 new records had already been set.
From the field, to the long jump pit and especially on the track, no record was spared from the wrath of the determined athletes.
The overseas based athletes from Trinidad and Tobago also joined in on the action, setting several new marks, especially in the field events.
And according to organizer of the event Rawle Clarke, the 2014 edition was a definite success.
“We had a record number of participants this year, and judging from the response, especially from the overseas based competitors, I have no doubt it will only get better next year,” he said. (RB)
