They laughed at the stunts, but at the end of the day the children at Wesley Hall Infants and Junior Schools showed they had internalised the message of the safe use of chemicals in the home.
Yesterday, they were treated to a skit complete with screeching wheels of a vehicle, dramatising the wrong way to store chemicals around their homes and what could happen when a dangerous chemical, which was stored in a soft drink bottle and not labelled, was ingested.
The actors and actresses were members of the Labour Department.
Acting senior safety and health officer with the Safety and Health Section, Alison Elcock, explained April 28 was World Day For Safety And Health At Work and its theme was the safe use of chemicals.
The department will be taking its message to eight primary schools around the island, from Boscobel Primary to St Martin’s Mangrove, this and next week. (HLE)
