MINISTER of Transport and Works Michael Lashley is expressing satisfaction with the work done on “The Adopt-a-Kilometre Project”.
He was speaking at a brief site visit just off the Henry Forde roundabout, Newton, Christ Church, this morning where one of the billboards was set up.
The minister said the project was not being funded by the government and encouraged corporate Barbados to come on board.
He also said the project, the pilot section of which runs from the Grantley Adams Airport to the Errol Barrow roundabout, should be a job creator.
Mark Maloney, managing director of PreConco, the company behind the project concept, said at least 50 companies were already on board and in negotiations.
The company Adopt-a-Kilometre is responsible for hiring the landscape and maintenance companies to work on the sections. (JS)
