The Royal Barbados Police Force has added a new feature to its crime-fighting arsenal.
Lawbreakers, be on the look-out. You may no longer be able to escape apprehension, using side roads and tracks as getaway routes.
A fleet of motocross bikes (scramblers) has been assigned to police officers to improve the force’s capabilities in fighting certain types of crime.
“We look at utilising whatever resources we can to meet the needs of the people. And therefore, it’s just an extension of what we do in addressing the crime situation across the country,” Assistant Superintendent Antonio Forte told the SUNDAY SUN.
Over the past several weeks, officers attached to the Special Services Unit (SSU) have been using the recently acquired scrambler motorbikes as part of their response and patrol units.
