Two years in prison for swallower

FORTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Donna Ann-Marie Barnes-Peart will spend the next two years at HMP Dodds for importation of marijuana.
Barnes-Peart appeared at the Oistins Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to possession of two pounds of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
The Jamaican national was fined $24 000 forthwith for importation or two years in prison. The fine was not paid. She was conviction, reprimanded and discharged on the remaining charges. 
Barnes-Peart was arrested at the Grantley Adams International Airport on Monday. She was interviewed by police after clearing Immigration. She was referred to a medical facility where she passed out 50 packets containing cannabis and a cylindrical shaped package was also retrieved from her vagina. (PR/SAT)
