A BREACH OF the Constitution of Barbados.
That’s how Queen’s Counsel Ralph Thorne has described Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados Dr DeLisle Worrell’s attempt to ban the NATION and its journalists from covering any Central Bank events that he hosts as governor.
“With regard to the banning, the Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados is trespassing on the premises of the Constitution where that supreme law seeks to protect the fundamental right of freedom of expression,” Thorne said yesterday.
He added that the purported banning of the NATION’s reporters attracted the attention of at least two areas of the law.
