Cabinet’s view today

ACTING MINISTER OF Labour Senator Maxine McClean will put Cabinet’s position to all parties involved in the ongoing National Conservation Commission (NCC) industrial impasse, at the Labour Department in Warrens today at 10:30 a.m.
This was confirmed by president of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), Walter Maloney, following yesterday afternoon’s meeting of that union’s executive at Dalkeith, St Michael.
The NCC’s board, which has not moved from its position to retrench nearly 200 workers, walked out of a meeting with the NUPW and Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) on Monday, causing talks chaired by Acting Chief Labour Officer Victor Felix to break down.
