This is Barbados’ version of The Fast And The Furious. But the action won’t be on the street.
Instead, the track at Bushy Park, St Philip, will become the envy of motor sports fans around the world from this morning, with the staging of the Top Gear Festival today and tomorrow.
It promises to be a dream-come-true for car fanatics, who are expected to race in their thousands to the refurbished facility to see former Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton drive in Barbados for the first time.
Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson said racing enthusiasts will be seeing some “unbelievable machinery, stuff that we don’t take anywhere else in the world”.
“I do hope you enjoy the festival, I really, really do. I hope it becomes an annual event,” said Clarkson.
