Charge likely over death

A St Michael youth is expected to be charged tomorrow in connection with the death of Tristan Dacosta Barker, better known as “Tack Tack”, who was killed on Friday night at Well Road, Wavell Avenue, Black Rock.
The young man, from the same district as Barker, was in police custody yesterday after being held following the incident which occurred around 9:10 p.m.
Barker, 18, of Jackman Road, Wavell Avenue, which is adjacent to Well Road, was reportedly sitting on the step of a residence speaking to a female when the youth accosted him, and stabbed him in the neck.
According to one witness, Barker managed to get up, walked a short distance, and collapsed. He died at the scene being held by his sister Tonia.
She was at the police station giving a statement when the SUNDAY SUN visited his distraught family yesterday.
It was clear Barker’s death had hit the family and their friends hard as the many people crowded into the living room had tears in their eyes.
