THE NOVELTY OF jazz and laughter continues to work.
You just had to be at Divi Southwinds last night and witnessed the merging of the two genres to experience it.
And what made it more curious was that the setting was a Christian one where hundreds had assembled for the annual Capita Financial Services Laughter and Jazz show staged as part of Gospelfest Barbados 2014.
Patrons were sent home on a high after a diet of excellent music from the likes of Barbadian bassist Kirk Layne and Company, British singer Shezekial and American saxophonist Curtis Haywood and singer Damita Haddon.
But it was American comedian Rodz who stole the show with act which poked fun at the religious experiences of the Black church goer. (JS)
