Partnership sees YMPC home

A BREATH-TAKING second-wicket partnership of 109 between Ryan Wiggins and Shane Dowrich gave YMPC a comprehensive eight-wicket win over CGI Maple.
Playing last night in the final quarter-final of the Sagicor Twenty20 Cricket Competition at Kensington Oval, YMPC won with 11 balls to spare, chasing 139 to win.  
The partnership came off 77 balls. Wiggins scored 67, facing 38 balls and hitting eight fours and five sixes, while Dowrich struck a splendid unbeaten 64, lashing five fours and two sixes from 54 deliveries.
Earlier, Maple opted to bat and made 138 for four from 20 overs. Shane Ramsay top-scored with 45, including three fours and a six.
In the semi-finals, Spartan meet Pickwick on Thursday and YMPC oppose Wanderers the following day. The final is set for Sunday, where a new champion will be crowned.
