A ST MICHAEL man is expected to appear in court tomorrow to face four drug charges following a joint operation between the Drug Squad and the Customs and Excise Department at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday.
According to police, 32-year-old Samuel Andrew Maynard of Hinkson Gap, New Orleans was arrested and charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of 12 pounds of cannabis.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said Maynard arrived by air from Canada at about 2: 45 p.m., cleared Immigration, and was interviewed by Drug Squad personnel.
He was then referred to Customs where searches revealed twelve packages of the illegal drug.  Eight packages were discovered concealed in a false compartment of his suitcase and four were concealed in packages of biscuits.
