TISHANA HARRIS will be serving two years at HMP Dodds for various drug offences.
Harris, a 23-year-old Jamaican, was sentenced to two years each for possession and trafficking of cannabis after being unable to pay $100 000 in fines when she appeared in Oistins Magistrates court today.
The sentences will run concurrently.
She was reprimanded and discharged on charges of importation and possession with intent to supply.
Harris arrived in Barbados yesterday by air from Jamaica and her luggage was examined by Customs.
Nine taped packages containing the illegal drug were discovered concealed in a false compartment of her suitcase. She was detained by Customs Officers and handed over to Police, along with the drugs. (PR/SAT)
