THE NATIONAL Union of Public Workers (NUPW) was today preparing a register of members for presentation to the Employment Rights Tribunal (ERT), which is looking into a row between two unions and the National Conservation Commission (NCC).
NUPW general secretary Dennis Clarke said this was one of the developments emerging from last Friday’s meeting of the ERT, which discussed documentation and other issues required by the tribunal.
He said the union was trying “to sort out the whole question of representation”.
Clarke pointed out that while the NUPW represented the majority of NCC workers, “they (the ERT) want to ensure that the workers are in support of … the action we are taking”.
The Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) is the other representative of the NCC’s workers. (TY)
