TEN-TIME champions St Giles Primary marched into the semi-finals of the Pine Hill Dairy National Sports Council’s Primary Schools Netball Championship with a 19-13 win over Kent Construction Blackman and Gollop “B” at the Netball Stadium yesterday.
St Giles’ robust goal shooter Kellisa Kelly overwhelmed pint-sized Azizi Moe, sinking 16 goals from 22 attempts while goal attack Donelle Reid made three shots from nine attempts.
Sierra Deane-McCollin battled with 11 of 15 goals for Blackman and Gollop while Nia Wood-Alleyne scored a perfect two from two.
St Giles, who will meet the winner of today’s game between Bay Primary and Grantley Prescod, had quarter leads of 6-5, 11-6, and 16-9. Playmaker Kieanna Holder continued her impressive moves and ball handling in centre court for St Giles.
Reynold Weekes, who had played unbeaten all season, lost at the wrong time as they were beaten by Luther Thorne 17-14. Selena Taylor scored 13 goals from 23 attempts for Luther Thorne, with Leeana Brathwaite adding four from eight.  Reynold Weekes’ Raynesha Leon scored seven from ten while Derica Haynes made seven from 11.
Luther Thorne will face the winners of today’s big clash between the unbeaten Blackman and Gollop “A” and All Saints Primary. Blackman and Gollop had won the rally to start the season with a one-goal advantage over St Giles.
