DELTA AIRLINES IS BACK.
News that the North American airline was resuming flights to Barbados in December was revealed during a Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) Press conference at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hastings, Christ Church, yesterday.
“Delta was in Barbados from the Atlanta hub from 2006 through 2011,” said Petra Roach, interim chief executive officer of the BTA.
“There were a number of reasons why that didn’t work in terms of connectivity . . . and these are all challenges that we have looked at. We have gone and negotiated with Delta in terms of having 19 cities that will be connecting through to that out-bound service.”
