Administrative staff?at the Barbados Community College (BCC) took industrial action yesterday to protest the late payment of their salaries.
Reports indicate that office staff assigned to every faculty at the college either did not turn up for work or were on a work-to-rule.
“For the past year they have been getting their salaries extremely late and this month was no exception. They just got fed-up with the situation,” the WEEKEND?NATION was told by a part-time tutor who acknowledged that his salary was also late every month.
He said the absence of the officers would affect the administrative flow at the institution since courses for the next semester needed to be prepared.
The WEEKEND?NATION was unable to reach principal Dr Gladstone Best who was said to be at a meeting. (MB)
