Crop Over translates into the season of feting, with band launches, limes everywhere, weekends of music and food and a host of fundraising events by costume bands.
On one particular Saturday night there was gridlock on Aquatic Gap, from the entrance on Bay Street all the way to Needham’s Point and the Old Fort at the Hilton, when Baje International launched its Mega Monday.
The scene was similar at the Concorde Experience with the launch of Zulu International’s Once Upon a Time.
The historic George Washington House also took on a Crop Over atmosphere when Contact Band launched with its theme this year, The Elements Of Life. Contact is synonymous with the popular Pork Limes at the Wildey Gymnasium, which draws crowds in search of sumptuous pieces of pork.
