Workers protest

THE VILLAGES AT Coverley was the site of a three-man protest this morning, held by former construction employees who were terminated last Tuesday by Spring Homes Ltd, the company responsible for building the homes.
Andre Brathwaite, Shane Gibson and Tracey Harding are claiming wrongful dismissal.
However Spring Homes is claiming that the three men were competing against the company, after a Coverley homeowner who wanted modifications done on his home refused to accept the bid offered by Spring Homes Ltd, and instead contracted Brathwaite, Gibson, and Harding to do the work for him during their off days on the weekend.
The men, who contacted the labour department, received vacation pay plus four weeks’ salary, but are demanding their severance pay. (SH-O)
