BLACK ROCK was a scene of scattered spectators as revellers masqueraded along the extended route this afternoon.
This year instead of turning down into Brighton, the 26 bands parading down the road continued along Black Rock Main Road to the Frank Worrell roundabout, turning left onto Spring Garden Highway. Some vendors along the Black Rock Main Road reported moderate sales, which they said picked up later in the afternoon.
The roundabout was a popular meeting spot with spectators even choosing to set up their picnic baskets there. The crowd swelled once the bands reached Spring Garden. By 6 p.m., the HIV/AIDS Commission and Robert’s revellers trucks were snaking their way towards the end of the jump. (LW)
