STALL?OWNERS?at the Oistins Bay Gardens who have been pleading for clogged drains to be cleaned took matters into their own hands yesterday.
Armed with a broom, shovels, rake and buckets, three vendors, a regular customer and a stall worker tried to clear away the filthy black water and mud which has invaded the popular eating and entertainment spot, because all of the drains in the area are overflowing.
For several weeks, said the stall owners, that they had been trying to get the National Conservation Commission (NCC) to do its job and clean the drains.
They complained also that loads of garbage had piled up as NCC?workers did not turn up for the entire week.
