BARBADOS SUFFERED their worst finish at the Caribbean Volleyball Championships after losing the bronze medal match to Suriname 12-25, 22-25, 15-25 today in the Jean Pierre Complex in Trinidad and Tobago.
This is the first time in 14 CVCs that Barbados will return home empty handed with poor blocking, passing and attacking by the Bajans earning them just one victory at the games, which was a four setter against two times queens The Bahamas.
Once again, former double MVP Shari Matthews starred for Barbados with captain Thonya Joseph playing her best game of the tournament.  However, except for the second set where Barbados surged from 13-16 to constantly lock the scores up to 22, it was apparent that the former six-time queens were no match for the might of Suriname.
