First it was the BRA.
Now Government is working on a new outfit to regulate how the state sources and pays for the millions of dollars in goods and services it acquires annually.
Months after the BRA (Barbados Revenue Authority) came into force to streamline revenue collection, Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler told the SUNDAY SUN yesterday that the ruling administration will soon be rolling out the National Procurement Authority (NPA) which will replace the Central Purchasing Department.
And while the NPA’s main focus will not be on eliminating possible corruption from the system, it will be a welcome by-product as Government tightens its procurement processes.
