Stink over well

Sewage overflowing from the well of a St Peter hotel and restaurant has its neighbours totally fed up and demanding immediate action to remedy the situation.
Though the overflow has been occurring for some years in Shermans, it has become worse in recent weeks, with Saturday and yesterday being particularly bad.
A manager at Little Good Harbour and The Fish Pot, the owner of the well, acknowledged the problem and yesterday promised to rectify the situation.
But for long-suffering resident Roger Forde, he has heard it all before and wants action and less talk.
“All the fancy talk goes no way. I should not be walking about smelling that [or be] walking through that. I should not be,” he said.
“I could not do it to Little Good Harbour so . . . let us work as good neighbours and rectify the problem.”
