Amazon Warriors in CPL final

Guyana Amazon Warriors will face the Barbados Tridents in this year’s final of the Caribbean Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament.
Earlier today at the Warner Park ground in St Kitts, the Amazon Warriors rolled over the defending champion Jamaica Tallawahs by ten wickets.
The Amazon Warriors reached 138 without loss in 14.4 overs behind 71 from Lendl Simmons and 66 from Martin Guptill in reply to the Tallawahs’ 134 for six off their 20 overs.
The Tallawahs failed to fire. Chadwick Walton led off their innings with 34 and fellow opener Chris Gayle added 19. Nkrumah Bonner and finisher Andre Russell scored 21 and 20, respectively.
The final will be played at 4 p.m. Saturday at the same venue.
When the Tridents and Amazon Warriors met this season at Kensington Oval, it was a close contest, with the Guyana-based side scraping home by seven runs. (SAT)
