THE BARBADOS SECONDARY Teachers’ Union is taking the matter concerning the transfer of teachers from Alexandra School to court.
President Mary Redman said they had exhausted all other avenues and a decision was taken to go the legal route.
Close to 20 teachers were transferred from Alexandra as part of a system-wide shake-up in January 2013, which included the reassignment of the then principal Jeff Broomes and principal of Parkinson Memorial Secondary Orson Alleyne in what turned out to be a direct switch.
At the time, the BSTU said there were a number of problems associated with the transfers which could adversely affect students. (YB)
