Regardless of the outcome of tomorrow’s match against Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados have qualified for next year’s Netball World Cup in Australia.
Indeed, both teams have qualified after going unbeaten at the Americas Federation of Netball Association Championships in Alberta, Canada, earlier today. The Netball World Cup, previously the World Netball Championships, will be held in Sydney, Australia from August 7 to 16, 2015.
Barbados defeated Canada 62-37 to move to 5-0, while Trinidad and Tobago rolled over Grenada 82-31 to have a similar record.
Bragging rights and ranking points will be on the line when the two teams meet tomorrow to decide who will top the group. In the last meeting at the Commonwealth Games, Trinidad and Tobago edged Barbados 38-37.
Organisers have said this match, as well as that between the United States and Canada, will be streamed live at http://www.sportscanada.tv/acac/index.php/sait-trojans.
