Daryan Jordan stands out at Richard Stoute preliminary

DARYAN JORDAN CHANNELLED two of the pop/R&B’s finest male voices to clinch the second preliminary of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition last Sunday evening.

One of only two male competitors that evening, his strong performance on the Divi Southwinds stage, in St Lawrence Main Road, Christ Church, earned him 634 points overall.

Fazeena Bassalet ran a distant second with 587 points. The youngest competitor in the preliminary, the ten-year-old presented Music and Me and Let it Go. Third place went to 15-year-old Destiny George, amassing 579.

And although they did not make it into the winners’ circle, there were other competitors who were still able to get the attention of the judges.

Romario Greaves was one such contestant. The 19-year-old was allowed to advance, with his final tally of 566 points. Petrona Robinson and Destiny Ifill were also given special recommendations to have another chance to face the judges.

Vanessa Miller was the winner of the Over-21 section. (LW)
